Mersea Flora 2 day Workshop - Mersea Island 15th & 16th Sept 2022 Much of my recent work has been inspired by the Flora of the Saltmarsh and the intertidal zone ... resulting in a body of work called 'Mersea Floriligeum' . This is one of my favourite workshops - a really lovely experience to get back to nature and create. Day 1 We'll explore the Saltmarsh making a series of observations of Flora and the landscape as we go, on a concertina sketchbook with pre-prepared grounds . Later Back at the studio ... we will work into this further with a range of materials . With individual tuition and advice and some inspiration from some of Vinny's work we'll then start to explore a range of different ideas and outcomes. Day 2 Using the ideas developed on day 1, you will start to develop your final textile and mixed-media piece . The techniques you use will be individually tailored to your ideas , but may involve: printing, appliqué, mixed-media, bonding, dyeing techniques & machine & hand embroidery . All basic materials are included . You will need to bring lunch or there are lots of take-away or eat in options available . I may be able to help with a list of accommodation options if you are travelling to Mersea. Please let me know on booking if you require this.
Booking Terms All workshops require payment in full upfront in order to confirm your place. In the event of a cancellation, payments are non refundable because of the planning, supplies ordered and lost revenue. Please let me know in plenty of time if you need to cancel your space. In the unlikely event that I have to cancel or postpone a workshop, or if I am unable to fill the required numbers to run the workshop, we will happily refund the money and give as much notice as possible. In these circumstances we cannot accept responsibility for extra costs or expenses incurred by yourself. Any items made at the Studio are intended for personal use and not for commercial use.
