Service Description

Textile Heirlooms workshop at No 4 West Mersea , 5th October, 10am - 4pm. In this workshop we will utilise some of the processes and techniques I have used within my own work to create a small panel inspired by your own family history. You just need to bring a few A6 close up portraits of family members printed out onto computer paper . I will provide the rest . You will learn: How to develop image transfers on to textiles. Develop an effective composition of layering a variety of mixed media and textile fragments to create evocative vintage inspired textile work. How to add machine or hand embroidery techniques to create flow and detailed embellishment within the composition. How to use Gesso to further enhance and create texture and highlights in your work. A longer 2 day workshop ‘Memory Box’ - where a 3D box is made is also available.

Cancellation Policy

Booking Terms All workshops require payment in full upfront in order to confirm your place. You can cancel your space on a workshop up to four weeks before it takes place – you will receive a full refund minus £5 admin fee per workshop place. If you cancel within the 4 week period before workshop I will try to find another student – however, please be understanding that if I am unable to find someone to take your place, you will not receive a refund. In the unlikely event that I have to cancel or postpone a workshop, or if I am unable to fill the required numbers to run the workshop, we will happily refund the money and give as much notice as possible. In these circumstances we cannot accept responsibility for extra costs or expenses incurred by yourself. Any items made at the Studio are intended for personal use and not for commercial use.
